Good day, subscriber,

Urban development is more than image and public perception. A qualitative rheingold study on the Altenessen district shows how important it is to shed light on the dark sides and at the same time use the potential for fascination for positive development.
Altenessen is considered a difficult district with a high proportion of migrants, a threat of division among the population and alienation from one another.
In the webinar on May 23 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. the psychologist and study director Sebastian Buggert will use the example of the Essen district to present the opportunities that a profound understanding offers for strengthening community and building future projects. The initiators of the study, Annegret Böckenholt (Altenessen-Konferenz) and Peter-Arndt Wülfing (Interessengemeinschaft Altenessen), will take part in the webinar.
Register here.
The aim of the study was to work out the specific character of the district, the psychological "urban core", in order to understand what binds people to Altenessen and what they can identify with in a positive sense. The narratives of alienation should be broken up and turned into a sustainable, unifying narrative. In this way, the view of Altenessen can serve as an example for many German districts.
We would be delighted if you would join us for the webinar and bring your own questions.

Best regards from Cologne,
